2023 College Baseball Postseason Predictions

Winston-Salem Regional

Winner: Wake Forest

Runner Up: Northeastern

My biggest concern is that Wake has peaked too early and the fact the number one national seed always finds trouble, but other than that, Wake has been dominant all season and I expect it to continue.

Tuscaloosa Regional

Winner: Boston College

Runner Up: Alabama

BC really had an argument to host, and I think they are a really solid team.

Coral Gables Regional

Winner: Miami

Runner Up: Texas

Texas and Louisiana could pose to be very tough outs, but Miami has been on a tear lately.

Stanford Regional

Winner: Stanford

Runner Up: Cal State Fullerton

I love Stanford pretty much every year and this year is no exception. This lineup brings back pretty much everyone from the team that mashed their way to the CWS last year and to go along with Quin Mathews as their ace. Pitching depth will be key here.

Baton Rouge

Winner: LSU

Runner Up: Sam Houston

LSU has the best position player and pitcher in the tournament. The pressure will be on but I think they will be up to the task.

Lexington Regional

Winner: West Virginia

Runner Up: Kentucky

This in my opinion is one of the few regionals that all 4 teams can win, but I think WVU pulls it out.

Auburn Regional

Winner: Southern Miss

Runner Up: Auburn

Not super sold on this Auburn team, no offense. But, its an SEC team, so they are always dangerous to go on a run.

Clemson Regional

Winner: Clemson

Runner Up: Tennessee

Clemson has been red hot and I expect their tear to continue.

Gainesville Regional

Winner: Florida

Runner Up: Connecticut

I like Uconn, but I don't think they have enough juice to get to UF.

Columbia

Winner: Campbell

Runner Up: NC State

This Campbell team feels disrespected after not getting a host bid, and I think they show up and run through a sliding South Carolina team among others.

Conway Regional

Winner: Coastal Carolina

Runner Up: Duke

Duke poses a tough challenge, but I like CC.

Charlottesville Regional

Winner: Virginia

Runner Up: East Carolina

Man, is ECU a tough 2 seed. But I really really like this UVA team.

Nashville Regional

Winner: Vanderbilt

Runner Up: Oregon

If I had to pick one, this would probably be the weakest regional.

Stillwater Regional

Winner: Dallas Baptist

Runner Up: Oral Roberts

This may be the toughest regional, and yes I have the four seed ORU as the runner up, and I really think they could win the regional if things break right.

Terre Haute Regional

Winner: Iowa

Runner Up: Indiana State

I think ISU falls short on a miracle season, but it would not shock me if the aces for them shove their way into a super.

Fayetteville Regional

Winner: Arkansas

Runner Up: Arizona

Arkansas continues their run as DVH shows he may be the best coach in the country.

I surprised myself by not having a 3 seed win a regional, as one has made Omaha every year since 2008. But, I just didn't think there was a 3 that would do it. Obviously, my guess is one will happen.
